Basquiat Boom for Real at The Barbican
Developing a partnership with London's Barbican
Cleveland's relationship with the London's Barbican centre has, until recently, been primarily through a strong, long-established and continually developing relationship with the London Symphony Orchestra, which has long been based in the complex.
Through our partnerships with Creative Schools, A New Direction and Stratford Circus arts, we have now begun a new relationship with the Barbican's gallery. Our Year 6 pupils had the opportunity to visit the Basquiat exhibition, which was garnering much praise and attention in the media and with arts critics. They - both pupils and teachers - were stunned by their visit which included an opportunity to work with resident arts experts and a visiting artist.
