Admissions

Joining a school for the first time can be a little daunting for some children so the admission process is given a high priority at Cleveland Road Primary School. Any parent or carer considering admission for their child is very welcome to contact the school to arrange a visit. Applications for admission into the Nursery should be made to the school but enrolment at other times is the responsibility of the Local Education Authority. Each school and Nursery class has an agreed number of children to admit each year.

Nursery

If you want your child to attend our Nursery you should apply directly to the school. If there are more children than places available, priority will be given in the following order:

A) Looked-after children or Previously Looked-After Children – those in the care of the Local Authority or previously in the care of the Local Authority

B) Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan or where is it is agreed that it is essential for the child to be admitted to the school on exceptional grounds

C) Children with siblings who are already on roll at the school and will still be on roll at the school when the child is admitted

D) The child’s date of birth, with preference given to older children

If allocated a place, children will usually start in the Nursery in the September after their third birthday.

Reception

Children normally start infant or primary school during the September of the year in which they are five. Parents should apply to the Admissions Section of the Education Department by clicking on the link below:

Your child's birthday should fall between 1st September 2018 and 31st August 2019

The application process will open on 1st September 2022

The deadline for online online applications is 15th January 2023

An offer email will be sent to the email address used to complete your application during the evening of 17th April 2023.

Log into your eAdmissions account by 2nd May 2023 to tell us if you accept the offer from us or not.

Should there be more applications than spaces available then priority will be given as detailed below:

A) Looked-after children – those in the care of the Local Authority

B) Children with a Statement of Educational Needs or where is it is agreed that it is essential for the child to be admitted to the school on exceptional grounds

C) Children with siblings who are already on roll at the school and will still be on roll at the school when the child is admitted

D) Children living nearest to the school based on the shortest measured walking distance as measured by a Geographical Information System from the child’s home to the main entrance of the school using public roads and recognised footpaths

In-Year Primary School Admissions

Make an application for a primary or secondary school place for your child or children during the school year if you have moved or want to apply for a new school place. You can choose up to 6 schools and put them in order of preference on your application.

Apply to start secondary school Year 7 for September 2023. This application applies to children with birthdays from 1 September 2011 to 31 August 2012. This application can only be made online. 

If you live in Redbridge, you must apply for a secondary school place through the local authority, even if you are applying for a school outside the borough. If you are not a Redbridge resident, you need to apply through your own council. This includes school places for a Redbridge school. 

When to apply

Your child's birthday should fall between 1st September 2011 and 31st August 2012

The application process will open on 1st September 2022

The deadline for online applications is 31st October 2022. 

An offer email will be sent to the email address used to complete your application during the evening of 1st March 2023

You must respond to the offer by 15th March 2023
